Exam and credential pathway
The exam evaluates AI management principles and ISO/IEC 42001 requirements together with audit preparation, conduct, closure and programme management.
Passing the exam allows application for an eligible PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Auditor credential. The credential tier depends on professional experience and verified audit activity; the Lead Auditor title is not automatic.
Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.

The 12-month period for the first examination, included free retake and certification application begins on the purchase date. This is separate from eLearning access: PECB provides unlimited access to the course materials and prerecorded sessions.
