Exam and credential pathway
The exam evaluates PIMS principles, implementation initiation and planning, execution, monitoring, continual improvement and certification-audit preparation.
Passing the exam allows application for an eligible ISO/IEC 27701 Implementer credential. PECB assigns provisional, implementer, lead and senior tiers according to verified professional experience and PIMS project activity.
Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.

The 12-month period for the first examination, included free retake and certification application begins on the purchase date. This is separate from eLearning access: PECB provides unlimited access to the course materials and prerecorded sessions.
