Exam and credential pathway

The exam evaluates SMS principles and requirements, implementation planning and execution, monitoring, continual improvement and certification-audit preparation.

Passing the exam allows application for an eligible PECB ISO/IEC 20000 Implementer credential. Provisional, implementer, lead and senior tiers carry different professional-experience and SMS project-activity requirements.

Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
