Exam and credential pathway

The examination focuses on the fundamental principles and concepts of an ISMS and the management-system requirements addressed by ISO/IEC 27001:2022. The applicable examination format follows the course rules; English is the default examination language.

After completing the course and passing the examination, a candidate may apply for the PECB Certificate Holder in ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Foundation designation. PECB lists no professional-experience, audit-hour or ISMS-project requirement for this entry-level designation, while the application requirements and Code of Ethics remain applicable.

Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
