Exam and credential pathway
The Foundation exam focuses on environmental-management principles and the ISO 14001 requirements for an EMS.
After passing the exam, the candidate may apply for the Certificate Holder in ISO 14001:2026 Foundation designation. PECB lists no professional or EMS project-experience requirement for this entry-level credential, while application and ethics requirements still apply.
Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
