This advanced auditing course develops the knowledge and skills needed to assess a security management system against ISO 28000. It applies recognized auditing principles to preparation, evidence collection, on-site work, nonconformity reporting, audit closure, follow-up and audit-program management, with reference to ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1.

Exam and credential pathway

The exam addresses SeMS principles and requirements, audit concepts, preparing and conducting an ISO 28000 audit, closing the audit and managing the audit programme.

Passing the examination enables an application to the applicable PECB ISO 28000 Auditor designation. Higher designations require the specified professional and SeMS audit experience, in addition to application and ethics requirements.

Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
