Exam and credential pathway

The examination covers QMS concepts, implementation initiation and planning, implementation work, monitoring and measurement, continual improvement and preparation for a certification audit.

The professional credential depends on verified experience and project activity. PECB lists provisional, Implementer, Lead Implementer and Senior Lead Implementer grades. The Lead Implementer grade requires five years of professional experience, including two years in quality management, and 300 hours of QMS project activity. Lower or higher grades have different thresholds.

Passing the examination, applying for a credential and receiving the credential are separate stages.

Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
