The cognitive behavioral therapy
Introduction
This program discusses cognitive behavioral therapy which represents one of the modern therapeutic methods, and although the field of contemporary psychotherapy is rich with various schools and methods that may reach more than one hundred forms of psychotherapy, in light of this contradiction, cognitive behavioral therapy is considered a model of the best therapeutic strategies. It contains a comprehensive theory for behavior change, based on integration among diverse streams in psychotherapy.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a very effective set of procedures that include assessment, planning, decision-making, and employing techniques. The therapist plays an active and supportive role, using a wide range of techniques starting with psychoeducation and guided discovery, reaching role-playing and live or imagined behavioral exposure, which helps patients deal with maladaptive thinking patterns and replace them with more rational and compatible ways of thinking.
It also relies on a therapeutic relationship based on cooperation between the therapist and the patient, where the patient’s personal responsibility for all distorted thoughts and dysfunctional irrational beliefs is emphasized, as these are primarily responsible for the disorders the patient suffers from and the resulting distress and hardship.
Furthermore, cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on the role of thinking, expectations, and beliefs in developing and maintaining disorders, and thus aims to change them using procedures derived from learning theories based on observational learning and cognitive processes.
Everyone recognizes the importance of training in bridging performance gaps, meeting training needs across various fields, achieving goals, and fostering development and growth for individuals and institutions.
Training is both science and art; it is a science to be studied and a skill to be acquired. We strive to offer useful and enjoyable content in the field of training, and we at the Success Skills Office are pleased to cooperate with you in delivering the "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy" package.

Useful administrative instructions and regulations for trainers
Training methods for training programs:
Generally, trainers tend to use the following training methods in all their programs: (Educational workshops + Cooperative learning + Training lecture + Role-playing + Brainstorming workshops).
Training tools used in training programs:
Laptop + projector + white screen + two flip charts + flip chart stand + large colored pens + audio equipment + transparent tape.
Required training hall specifications:
1. A mosque or prayer room nearby, not more than 50 meters away (for women’s and men’s courses, separate prayer spaces are necessary). Prayer times are observed with each adhan, allowing trainees to prepare and perform prayers, not exceeding 20 minutes including break and prayer time.
2. Suitable, clean bathrooms close to the hall (separate for women and men, close to the hall).
3. Organized, appropriate, secure parking for trainees near the hall.
4. Signage indicating the program location inside the premises, bearing the institution’s name, program, trainer, course location, date, and start and end times.
4. The hall should be spacious, clean, with extra space inside for practical exercises.
5. Seating arrangements should be coordinated with the trainer, with women’s seats separated from men’s according to our Sharia, principles, and societal values. Trainees sit either in a U-shape, V-shape, or circle workshop style, with adjustable and movable tables, and comfortable, mobile chairs. The seating arrangement should ensure comfort, good eye contact, and facilitate movement for the trainer.
6. Good audio equipment must be available, including a portable wireless microphone.
7. A table for the trainer’s tools, including the computer, bags, and training materials.
8. A large display screen and a large flip chart.
9. Coordination with the hall management to hang explanation papers on a stand or wall.
10. Ensure good ventilation and air renewal.
11. Proper lighting, preferably white lighting.
12. No distracting images or content incompatible with values or advertisements for other entities.
13. For courses with a TV circle for male and female trainees, ensure the TV circle is ready, with two screens—one for training display and the other for trainer videos—and wireless microphones for communication between the two halls.
14. Smoking inside the training hall, corridors, or restrooms is strictly prohibited.
15. Assign cleaning staff to organize, clean, and deodorize the hall before the program begins and during breaks.
16. Ventilate the hall by opening all windows an hour before the program to refresh air, oxygen, and energy, and periodically during breaks.
17. Arrange trainees’ notebooks and chairs, ensuring they are in good condition before and during breaks.
18. The organizing body and course management prepare a list of trainees’ names to facilitate acquaintance and help the trainer identify them.
19. The organizing body prints trainee cards bearing the training organization’s logo, Success Skills logo, program name, and attaches them to the trainees’ chests. These cards are collected at the hall entrance and returned upon exit for attendance tracking and system regulation.
20. Hall decor colors should be light and calm.
21. Remove excess chairs beyond the number of trainees, checked periodically.
22. Place two high chairs for the trainer to be visible during activities and sitting.
23. Ensure a printer is available in the training hall for printing emergency training forms.
24. A reception table is placed outside the hall entrance, managed by the course secretary, for welcoming trainees, coordinating attendance, departure, and inquiries.
25. A welcoming stand outside the hall with the institution’s name, logo, program, trainer, course location, date, and start and end times, greeting participants.
26. A large advertising board inside the hall behind the trainer bearing the institution’s name, logo, program, trainer, course location, and date.
27. Welcome and motivational posters are placed at entrances and corridors leading to the course location.
29. Regularly check the cleanliness, scent, and sterilization of bathrooms, with welcoming signs for trainees.
(Refer to Appendices — Ideal Design for Training Hall)
The buffet:
A buffet for trainees twice daily, including water, fresh juices, pastries, tea, coffee, cappuccino, and cake (with attention to renewal, innovation, and presentation).
Also, the following materials are placed on the trainees’ table, with each trainee receiving:
1. A large, fresh, cold, original healthy water bottle.
2. A clean glass cup next to the water bottle.
3. A new box of tissues on the trainees’ table.
4. A set of refreshing candies that melt in the mouth, containing natural candies to help energize.
Notes and educational materials:
The trainer will provide the course coordinator with a course manual within 72 hours, including (the progressive presentation of the course, scientific material, and exercises), which are the intellectual property of the trainer, bearing the Success Skills logo, and will be photographed and properly packaged. The trainer’s name, Success Skills logo, website, and contact numbers should be prominently displayed on the manual cover (see Appendices — Training Bag Covers). It will be professionally photographed and packaged at the expense of the organizing entity, with the cost deducted from the course revenues.
Methods of evaluating and assessing training programs:
1. Evaluation tools by the trainer and course management:
Training is about closing performance gaps, and for the training program to succeed, a system of factors contributes to its success, including the trainer, course management, services, training hall, training bag, training objectives, trainees, internal and external training environment. The course is evaluated before, during, and after, with a pre-training meeting to confirm trainees’ training needs, understand their training goals, review the program, and assign tasks (see Appendices — Pre-Training Meeting). A daily 30-minute meeting is held after each training day to review the day’s program and discuss improvements for the next day (see Appendices — Daily Training Evaluation Meeting). A final evaluation meeting is held after the program ends, lasting one hour, to provide final recommendations for improvement (see Appendices — Final Program Evaluation Meeting).
Initial evaluation relies on the expectations board and trainees’ experience forms (see Appendices — Expectations Board and Trainees’ Experience Form), filled out before the training begins. During and after, evaluation depends on observation, measurement, daily evaluation forms from trainees, and the evaluation board.
2. Evaluation tools by trainees:
a. Experience forms (see Appendices — Expectations Board and Trainees’ Experience Form)
b. Daily and final evaluation forms (see Appendices — Training Program Evaluation Form)
c. Daily evaluation board (see Appendices — Daily Evaluation Board)
d. Suggestion box (see Appendices — Suggestion Box)
These evaluation tools are periodically reviewed and analyzed using Excel daily (see Appendices — Evaluation Form Analysis for the Training Program).
Conditions for passing any training program:
To obtain a certificate of successful completion, the participant must:
- Attend at least 90% of the training hours.
- Actively participate in all training activities.
- Pass the training assessments designed by the trainer.
Regulations to consider during organizing the training:
1. The trainer is the team leader in the training program, representing the team head, with the right to request everyone to increase effort and dedication.
2. The course coordinator or manager holds a briefing session with the trainer at least one day before the program, explaining participant backgrounds, training needs, main issues facing them and their community, including religious, sectarian, cultural, religious, economic, social, and occupational backgrounds.
3. A daily end-of-day session is held to evaluate each training day, including the trainer, course manager, and coordinator, to review trainee and trainer feedback and improve the course.
4. Smoking inside the hall, corridors, or restrooms is strictly prohibited, especially for the administrative, marketing, and training teams.
5. All training, administrative, and marketing team members must respect prayer times and perform prayers in congregation with trainees, as they serve as role models. Prayer will be observed immediately after the adhan, with no delay or interruption.
6. No one other than participants in the training program is allowed inside the hall unless with special permission from the trainer, who has the sole authority to decide on entry.
