FUJIFILM Digital Camera X100VI Silver.
Fujifilm has just announced the highly-anticipated X100VI camera, a 40-megapixel successor to the incredibly popular Fujifilm X100V. The X100 line has long been popular with serious image makers who demand a premium compact capable of creating professional-level images they can carry everywhere. Offering 6.2K/30P video recording, 5th generation imaging technology, AI-trained autofocus, and four stops of built-in ND filter, the X100VI is sure to be popular with street, travel, and lifestyle creators. With its compact size and up to 6 stops of in-body image stabilization, photographers and filmmakers will be able to capture their vision anywhere and everywhere they go
Fujifilm X100VI: A Premium Compact for Creative Purists
Inspiration can strike anywhere and at any time. For creators who desire the highest quality images and superior tools that deliver, Fujifilm offers the X100VI. Building on the legacy of Fujifilm premium compact cameras, the X100VI allows creators to masterfully capture 40-megapixel stills and 6.2k/30p video footage while maintaining the premium compact line's clean, classic look and interface. The X100VI will feel familiar to those who have enjoyed Fujifilm’s X100 series in the past, as the beautiful design aesthetic has been maintained. At the same time, numerous features have been refined, added, or upgraded
As creators, we want tools that free us to create; the Fujifilm X100VI was built with creators in mind, providing us with a comfortable, accessible, and powerful partner in our creative journey
Stable Shooting
Having a compact camera you can carry everywhere means creators will, in fact, carry their Fujifilm X100VI with them to every destination. Never fear; the camera boasts up to 6 stops of image stabilization. This, of course, is an indispensable feature for low-light photography, but let’s not forget the X100VI can also capture amazing video
Sometimes, we choose to work with a slow shutter, perhaps to catch the motion of a whirling crowd while capturing a sharp portrait of our friends. IBIS allows the motion of the world to be captured while eliminating camera shake
Powerful Sensor
The imaging technology of the 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR Sensor of the Fujifilm X100VI allows for amazingly fast capture of huge, detailed photos. With the massive resolution available, creators can capture all the fine details in their environment, whether it be a crowded city street or a rocky beach at sunset. Operating at twice the speed of the previous generation, catching fleeting expressions in portraits or the waves as they crest a sea wall is no problem for the X100VI
For those times you need to get just a bit closer, the digital teleconverters will come in handy; 1.4x and 2.0x are available. An internal 4-stop neutral density (ND) filter is provided to give you even more control
6.2k Video
While some may favor one over the other, it is safe to say that many creators capture both still photography and video on a regular basis. When filmmaking is on the menu, the X100VI is a capable tool that can capture up to 6.2K at 30P. For extra crisp 60-frame shooting, 4k/60p is also available. While capturing footage, the 4-stop ND and IBIS are, of course, indispensable, and Fujifilm’s legendary film simulations give you a massive range of options for color and contrast control with classic flavors. The F-Log2 capability means you can keep all your options open in post-production if the project requires it
Film Simulation
It is a rare conversation about Fujifilm that does not involve praise for the company’s beautiful and varied film simulations. Having a cache of 20 or more film simulations means you can pick the look and feel you want for your images as you create them. Even when shooting RAW, the simulations carry with the files to Capture One, which means you can always make changes later. The Fujifilm X100VI comes with the REALA Ace film simulation first introduced with the GFX100 II. REALA Ace produces life-like colors and has quickly become a favorite of commercial and portrait shooters. Let us not forget these simulations can also be applied when creating video
AI (Artificial Intelligence) Trained Autofocus
Innovating the way autofocus works, Fujifilm has used deep learning technology to train the X100VI, revolutionizing subject detection and tracking. Going beyond face and eye detection, the X100VI’s autofocus algorithm locks in on and tracks a host of subjects in any lighting environment. Fujifilm recognizes that creators who take their cameras everywhere need autofocus that is fast and accurate everywhere. All this is made possible with the X-Processor 5 Imaging Processor
Camera to Cloud
Fujifilm understands that creators often collaborate and has incorporated native support for frame.io in the X100VI. This camera-to-cloud functionality means that with an active internet connection, a creator can upload their images and video as they are being captured. Not only does this provide a means of remote collaboration, but it also means that an editor can begin post-production while production is still happening! These collaborators can be anywhere in the world, including right there with you on location. No more gathering around the back of the camera to discuss session progress, the project can be viewed and edited on a computer nearby while the photographer focuses on their subject
Fujinon 23mm f/2 Lens
Updated in the fifth generation, the camera's Fujinon 23mm f/2 lens features a revised optical design that includes two aspherical elements for improved sharpness and clarity through the reduction of spherical aberrations and distortion. With a 35mm full-frame equivalency, the lens' bright f/2 design handles low-light conditions and affords shallow depth of field. When it's bright, the built-in 4-stop ND filter can also be used for more control over your exposures and to better enable working with shallow depth of field. While the lens is a fixed focal length, the X100VI integrates 1.4x and 2x digital teleconverter settings to simulate the look of working with the longer focal lengths of 49mm and 70mm, respectively
Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder
Both optical and electronic viewfinder types are incorporated into the unique Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, which lets you select from the simplicity and familiarity of an OVF as well as the versatility of an EVF. The optical viewfinder provides a clear, lifelike view of the scene for easier composition and subject tracking. Its enhanced design incorporates an Electronic Rangefinder function, which mimics the functionality of a mechanical rangefinder, and simultaneously overlays information from the electronic viewfinder on top of the optical viewfinder for comparative manual focus control
Film Simulation Modes
Film Simulation modes allow you to reproduce the look and feel of several of FUJIFILM's film types. The X100VI boasts FUJIFILM's latest recipe-REALA ACE-and also includes 19 other modes, including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, PRO Neg.Std, PRO Neg. Hi, Classic Neg., Nostalgic Neg., Eterna Cinema, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros, Acros + Ye Filter, Acros + R Filter, Acros + G Filter, Black & White, Black & White + Ye Filter, Black & White + R Filter, Black & White + G Filter, and Sepia. In addition to simulating specific film types, a Grain Effect mode is also available to replicate the look of old film photos with an organic textured appearance, which is especially noticeable when printing. Color Chrome and Color Chrome Blue effects are also available to deepen color, tonal response, and gradation with higher saturation colors.
Frame.io Camera-to-Cloud integration
Deliver photos or video straight to the cloud moments after they're created with the first accessory-free integration for Frame.io Camera to Cloud. Use the camera's built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet LAN connection to connect to Frame.io and deliver hi-res raw or JPEG images, send h.264 video proxies, or upload video securely for review
