يحملُ التاريخُ المجيد آثاراً لأعظمِ خلقِ الله (وهم الصحابةُ الكرام)، وأطهرَ البقاعِ على وجه الأرض (وهي المساجد)،
مسجد عمر بن الخطاب، مسجد أثريٌّ يحملُ بين جدرانه عبقَ التاريخ، وأمجادَ السيرة، ورحمةَ الله للعالمين.
يقعُ المسجد في منطقة الجوف في شمال المملكة العربية السعودية. تنبع أهميه من تخطيطه، حيث يمثل استمراريةً لنمط تخطيط المساجد الأولى. ويُذكّر بتخطيط مسجد الرسول ﷺ في المدينة في مراحله الأولى، وكذلك تعود أهمية هذا المسجد إلى كونه من أقدم المساجد الأثرية التي لم يتبدل تخطيطها، حيث بناه رضي الله عنه وهو في طريقه إلى بيت المقدس.

Situated in the Al-Jouf region in the northern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the mosque's significance lies in its architectural design, representing a continuation of the patterns seen in the early mosques. It evokes the layout of the Prophet's (PBUH) Mosque in Medina during its formative stages. Additionally, the mosque's importance stems from being one of the oldest archaeological mosques with an unaltered layout. It was constructed by Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, during his journey to Jerusalem.
