Product description
When the word "the relationship between Islam and science" is mentioned in academic discussions and others, the theory of evolution usually comes to mind, especially after the dominance of the modern form of the theory in biology, and even in other related sciences. It is often said that the theory of evolution contradicts the sacred text, and the theory has a long historical journey with the Bible. So what about the Holy Quran? Do the verses (and Hadiths) about the creation of Adam peace be upon him conflict with the theory? The author explores this question after presenting a useful outline of the theory in its modern form, and after distinguishing the features of the debate between the Bible and the theory to unravel the link between the theory and its philosophical and historical associations. Relying on Imam Al-Ghazali's interpretive model, the author examines the positions of supporters and opponents regarding reconciliation between the Holy Quran and the theory.
