Product description

You will find that this book contains two books: a book on the science of prosody and rhymes (for classical poetry), and a book on the meters of Nabati poetry and its rhymes. You will find it suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners, and a reference that is sufficient without the need for other books written on these two sciences. I have gathered in it what is scattered in others, then added new conclusions based on research and extrapolation. I also paid attention to clarity of style and to lighten the burden of old-fashioned language, so that it is easy for the reader to understand what is in it with just careful reading. This would not be achieved if one relied solely on old books, despite their great benefit and high value. It may be said that with this approach I have (made more difficult) the method of learning Nabati meters and made it harder for its poets and audience. I say: this is the correct way to learn the meters and rhymes, to master them, and to rely on them. Understanding is only achieved with detailed explanation. Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Increase your knowledge so you may know, and reduce it so you may memorize."
