The hole | Return oh Mash

This novel's events take place in "The Hole," which is a neighborhood of the most disturbed neighborhoods of Istanbul, founded by Idris, the head of the Kutchovali family who became a father to all the neighborhood's people, not just his family. The general course of the novel is shaped by the character Yamatsh, the youngest son of Idris, who decided to abandon his family and his home to start a new life away from gang life, but he finds himself forced to return to The Hole again, and to become involved in its events and accept the role assigned to him by the family and the neighborhood, becoming their savior from the dangers they face. The most prominent feature of this work is that it addresses gang life in Turkey in a different way, and discusses issues of family bonds and human relationships, even among the children of those gangs.
