Summary: The investigation by Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Jammaz of the marginal notes of the Mufti of Najd, Sheikh Abdullah Ababteen (1282 AH), on the explanation of "Muntaha Al-Iradat," which is also an investigation of the original marginal notes: "Sharh Al-Muntaha." And "Muntaha Al-Iradat" in the collection of the "Al-Muqni'" with "Tanqih" and "Ziyadat" is a book authored by Taqi al-Din Ibn al-Najjar Al-Futouhi (972 AH) to compile issues from the two books mentioned in its title: "Al-Muqni'" by Ibn Qudamah (620 AH), and "Al-Tanqih Al-Mashba'" in knowing the rulings of "Al-Muqni'" by Al-Mardawi (885 AH). It was a summary of the relied-upon Hanbali school of thought among the early, middle, and later Hanbali scholars. Due to its great importance, it was explained by several scholars, most notably Sheikh Mansour Al-Bahuti (1051 AH), whose explanation became widespread, famous, and a reference for judges, scholars, and muftis, with many marginal notes on it. Among those marginal notes on Al-Bahuti's "Sharh Al-Muntaha" is the marginal note by Sheikh Abdullah Ababteen (1282 AH), the learned jurist and Mufti of Najd, which he wrote with his luminous pen, pearls of rare benefits. The most prominent features of this marginal note are: 1- It includes Sheikh’s choices, preferences, and rulings on many issues. 2- It reconciles the Sheikh’s statements in this book with his statements in other works such as "Kashaf Al-Qina'" and "Marginal Notes on Al-Muntaha," clarifying his intentions. 3- It contains clarifications on some of the Sheikh’s words. 4- It includes many quotations from books of other madhabs. 5- It mentions Hanbali scholars in Najd, such as Ibn Atwa, Ibn Dhuhlan, and Ibn Manqoor. 6- It narrates Sheikh’s stories and his criticisms of some doctrinal violations of his time.
