Mahaakat of Dhil Ruma

The book proposes an Arabic formula for the haiku, through bridging between Arabic poetry and its Japanese counterpart, between Islamic Sufism and Zen Buddhism mysticism, between man and nature, and between nature and language, and between language and rhythm. The book attempts to use the meter of the Arabic poetry to understand the haiku, while the haiku helps to understand the meter. If poetry is the Arab's poetry collection, then perhaps the haiku today is the world's poetry collection, and if we wish to contribute to writing it, we must first improve our reading and appreciation of it. When the Arab poet is ready to write the haiku, that will be the best exercise and the best test of the sincerity and courage of his human experience, when it is stripped of the armor of thick language.
