Product description

This book is concerned with the study of the Silk Roads from a global history perspective. However, it does not address the Silk Roads in their classical sense, but the author tried to prove that each major empire had its own Silk Roads, and that the collapse of those empires was linked to the collapse of their Silk Roads. The Silk Roads played a central role in the conflict between major empires, and thus were a main cause of the two world wars. Frankopan published this book in 2015. The book caused a big stir after its release, and the Daily Telegraph newspaper chose it as the book of the year in the year it was published. It occupied a prominent place on the list of the best-selling books worldwide, and it was said that the number of copies sold reached 1.5 million.
