Sacrifice of the reader

Product description
Despite the many definitions that attempted to define the concept of experimentation in the art of the novel, as an adventure and deviation from the mainstream, or as a necessity of modernization, or as a methodology that uses techniques and patterns requiring the writer to test narrative mechanisms, and the reader to repeat viewing, the most delicate and smartest definition remains "sacrificing the reader." Experimentation, in its essence, is a responsible adventure that many readers may find boring, especially those lacking sufficient critical ability, who dismiss the novel, thinking it contains some narrative problems. And because writers inclined to experimentation, aware of this mode of reception, sometimes explicitly renounce these readers, dismissing their interaction in favor of personal immersion within the aesthetic of transcendence and adventure. This book sheds light on Saudi novel experiments that have adopted this experimental approach, through a panoramic view of the local narrative scene from the nineties until the current narrative moment, and explores most of the experiments that approached the features and manifestations of narrative experimentation.
