Note: The book belongs to a new reader who has not used it. Author: Hanan Al-Qattan Publisher: Afaq Library Number of pages: 178 Between standing on the edge of failure and insisting on success, the novel (Hedbaa) by poet and novelist engineer Hanan Al-Qattan is situated. These two events form the textual beginning and end, and in between is a novel filled with surprises, about a woman who has the ability to attract, attract everyone around her, and turn them into tools to succeed after tasting the bitterness of days. The heroine of the novel (Hedbaa) was a victim of poverty, oppression, customs, and traditions, but she carries within her the seeds of revolution and rebellion. After stopping her studies, marriage, and widowhood, she returns to university and continues, to meet love again, and achieve what she aspired to until she took a high position at her home country's embassy abroad. The author Hanan Al-Qattan says about her work: "I named her this because she was distinguished by the length and density of her black eyelashes, even though she had golden hair... I replaced her real name with a pseudonym and changed small details; so I could launch into an unrestrained space. Hedbaa was the fifth girl in a family consisting of seven girls and five boys. Her family was large and of limited income. Their modest home is located in a nearly deserted place at the top of Mount Lebanon. There, their small house is attached to other houses, scattered farms, and a few dilapidated schools... Hedbaa is the focus of the novel. She was beautiful like her sisters, but she was the only one with blonde hair and black eyelashes, with wide hazel eyes and a tall, slender stature. Hedbaa only noticed her beauty when she grew up and her femininity blossomed, seeing the reflection of her maturity in the eyes of the men around her. Hedbaa is currently forty-seven years old. I got to know her noble person during one of my visits to Beirut. I do not really know why that woman shared her story with me? And why she revealed her secrets to me? Secrets she had buried for a long time. That woman attracted me, her life's twists and turns fascinated me, so I chose to tell her story to every woman...
