In a session of hospitality and friendliness with Mr. Hani Ahmed Gharib, the conversation touched on the topic of conscience, so he asked me whether I had studied and addressed the topic of conscience. I told him: Perhaps I have briefly mentioned it in the midst of what I have previously written in books and articles. Honestly, I always viewed this topic as a religious or moral issue, and therefore I used to avoid delving into it. He said to me: But even religious and moral topics conceal a psychological thought, so why don't you approach it from the psychological perspective, which is considered the foundation that religious and moral thought does not neglect? This remark had a significant impact on my mind, and I wondered to myself, what prevents me from delving into this important subject, which stirs within the human soul, and trying to discover its psychological secrets?
