The Black Book, author: Orhan Pamuk

During an exciting search journey for his missing wife, Ghalib tracks down any imaginable evidence to remove the mystery from this puzzle, to find himself impersonating Jallal, the famous journalist. He wears his clothes and answers his calls, even writes his journalistic columns, and when he receives a death threat, he discovers that the worst has not yet come. This novel is not just an unconventional mystery by the most famous Turkish Nobel writer, but also an exploration journey of Istanbul in its quiet late days in 1980; where only nine months separate it from the most dangerous military coup in its history, which will eliminate, forever, the monarchy.
