Dr. Ali Al-Wardi wrote this book in separate chapters at different times, after the publication of his book "Preachers of the Sultans." These chapters are not on one subject, and I have compiled them because they were written under the influence of the fuss that arose around the aforementioned book. They may please some people and anger others. Dr. Al-Wardi starts from a principle in his articles that the new concepts believed by modern logic are the concept of movement and development; everything in this universe develops from one state to another, and there is no stopping this development. He says that it has become necessary for preachers to study the laws of this development before bombarding people with their loud sermons. Therefore, he does not see this book as glorifying Western civilization or calling for it; rather, he means to say that what is inevitable is inevitable. The modern concepts brought by Western civilization are coming, without doubt. He says that it is time to understand the truth before it is too late, as the Islamic world is going through a harsh transitional phase, suffering pains similar to labor pains. About half a century ago, the world was living in the Middle Ages, then the new civilization suddenly came and began to sweep away most of the familiar. Therefore, every Muslim household is witnessing a struggle and debate between the old generation and the new generation. The old looks at life through the lens of the tenth century, while the new wants to see it through the lens of the twentieth century. He adds that he expected thinkers, religious men, and others to help their people through this labor crisis, but instead, they tried to stand in the way of reform. Based on this, it can be said that the writing is an attempt to introduce a new perspective in an Islamic society that, as the researcher sees, lives with a mentality of the past, in an era of development that requires a vision and religious concepts that align with this lived reality.
