Product description
"Violent life" is not an exception from Bazolini's other novels in which he tends to rely on colloquial dialects among the residents of shantytowns to depict the world of crime and gangs that invade the center and settle in the margin. His heroes are rebellious youths from the suburbs and shantytowns, marginalized and bottom-dwellers who live in shacks on the outskirts of Rome, where infrastructure is absent, diseases spread, ignorance prevails, and fascism awakens. His narrative tool focuses on tracing the protagonist's paths from childhood, accompanying him in all those places, to see how he spends his time between the tavern and the street, how he meets his beloved in the meadows and cinema, and how his awareness matures between prison and hospital.
