A small herbaceous plant with many strip-shaped leaves of parallel lengths connected at the base of the stem. The color of the leaves in Plantago ovata tends to be grayish green, and small hairs usually grow on top of them. It is considered one of the most famous forage plants in the Saudi Arabian desert. It was mentioned in ancient folk poetry, where the poet says:
"Greenery of the veins beneath your transparent skin, clusters of Ribl, no one surpasses it."
