We feel it's necessary to mention the following points to help avoid many common mistakes that can occur during such trips. These guidelines are based on both international and local experiences in this field 😊:

  • Please fill your gas tank completely the day before the trip.
  • Respect the privacy of all group members, especially women. Do not photograph anyone you don't know unless they give you permission. Refrain from touching others under the pretense of helping—unless they explicitly ask for assistance.
  • If there is a complaint of inappropriate behavior—such as sending an unsolicited WhatsApp message to a woman after the trip—we will have to remove the individual from the group.
  • Please do not engage with strangers, or share any information about the trip (e.g., number of participants, route, rest location, etc.). If anyone asks, kindly direct them to the trip leader or guide.
  • Punctuality is key to a successful trip. If you are late, unfortunately, we cannot wait for you, as this affects the group and the trip schedule 🙏🏽
  • Mobile signal is often weak or non-existent at hiking locations. Please inform your loved ones in advance to avoid unnecessary worry.
  • We recommend wearing long sleeves and long pants for protection against insects, and bringing a backpack with a jacket, in case it gets cold or dusty (especially for mountain trips outside of Jeddah).
  • In case of rain accompanied by lightning, please switch off your phone or put it in airplane mode, spread out from others, and avoid standing near trees.
  • Bring Crocs or sandals to wear after the hike to let your feet rest comfortably.
  • Physical fitness is essential for such trips 💪🏼, and hiking shoes are mandatory 🥾 to protect your feet from injury.
  • Always stay with the group. Do not walk alone. Anyone who breaks this rule may be removed from future trips.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited during the hike. Smokers may only smoke away from vegetation, families, and children, and only in designated areas.
  • Leave no trace. Do not litter, especially with plastic bottles or bags, on the trail.
  • Do not share the location map with anyone outside the group. This can lead to them getting lost, as Google Maps is often inaccurate in remote desert areas.
  • Off-roading, reckless driving, or speeding near the campsite or trailhead is strictly prohibited, as it stirs up dust and can be dangerous.
