I don't care about the writer or the chess player, both of them are fighting a fierce mental battle against their opponent, on a board whose small space can expand to include the entire world! And because the calculations of profit and loss in my game of chess and writing are relative and do not follow any logic, I found myself forced to raise the white flag instead of continuing the fight in a battle where all circumstances led me to lose it, and I sought refuge for a while in a funny phrase that all defeated people resort to: tactical withdrawal... but I am not a politician who lies to his audiences to hide the truth, I am a writer who lies to reveal the truth to his readers! And here, there is no choice but to sign the acknowledgment of it, even if it is a frank admission of surrender. I am unable to complete a novel project I started writing on Monday, April 1, 2019, which means — if I take off the writer's cloak and wear the civil engineer's cloak I abandoned years ago because it doesn't fit my measurements — a building's collapse after I did everything I could to strengthen its foundations and respect the schedule of its progress. The building collapsed, leaving behind only one victim: me!
