“ضوء شديد العتمة” هو عنوان مجازي صادم، يشي في العمق التأويلي عن أسلوبية الكاتب التي تذهب إلى إضاءة العتمة في الأفلام؛ والمفارقة هي أن هذا الضوء ليس منيراً، ولكنه شديد العتمة، وهي تورية تحيل إلى العكس. لقد استوقفتني هذه المفارقة كثيراً وأنا أقرأ في ثنايا الكتاب، إذ يلوح لي العنوان المراوغ والمباغت والدافع لقراءة مراجعات الأفلام التي اختارها؛ ليضيء شدة عتمتها بعتمة منيرة؛ والعتمة المنيرة هذه -مجازاً- هي التي تدفع القارئ لاستكشاف مسرودات الأفلام، وهو بذلك يشرك القارئ المشاهد في التفكير والتحليل معه. وهو كتاب يطلعنا على دهاليز اثني عشر فيلماً، يستقصي فيها الكاتب بعض الموضوعات الحميمية والإشكالية التي تطرق إليها كل فيلم، وفي ذات الوقت يستجلي فيها فهمه ومنطقه، وتأويله.

“Intensely Dark Light” is a strikingly metaphorical title that, on a deeper interpretive level, reveals the author’s stylistic approach—one that seeks to illuminate the darkness within films. The paradox lies in the fact that this light is not illuminating in the conventional sense; rather, it is intensely dark, a rhetorical inversion that gestures toward its opposite meaning. This paradox lingered with me throughout my reading of the book, as the elusive and provocative title continually beckoned me toward the film reviews the author selected, urging me to explore and uncover the depth of their darkness through a darkness that itself becomes illuminating.

This “illuminating darkness,” metaphorically speaking, compels the reader to delve into the narratives of the films. In doing so, the author engages the reader-viewer in a shared act of reflection and analysis. The book guides us through the labyrinths of twelve films, in which the writer investigates intimate and problematic themes addressed by each work, while simultaneously revealing his own understanding, reasoning, and interpretive vision.
