1Q84 Part Two Haruki Murakami The story takes place in the year 1984 in three parts, the first part occurs between April and June, the second between July and September, and the third between October and December. The narration is in two stories told by the protagonists Omae and Tengu, where they exchange roles in each chapter to tell the events from their personal perspective, later in the third part Oeikaawa joins the narration to tell the events from his perspective in special chapters. The story begins when Omae follows the advice of the taxi driver who minimizes her, to escape the traffic crisis on the highway, so she uses the emergency exit so as not to be late for an important appointment (which is actually another assassination operation). From that day, Omae begins to notice strange things she had not noticed before, and she also hears for the first time about an incident of armed clashes between a radical group and the Japanese police three years ago, although the incident was on the front pages of the newspapers at the time and almost everyone [except her] knows about it, so she suddenly decides that she is living in another world [the parallel world] which she later calls 1Q84: the world that carries a question [doubt]..
