The original sera siporax Professional is suitable for use in freshwater and marine aquariums as well as in ponds. It does not depend on the type of filter (internal / external / trickle filter), it increases the surface required for biofiltration and provides the optimal substrate for sedimentation of the necessary filter bacteria.

The filtration and decomposition processes at the bottom of natural waters are very important. Organic waste is processed by microorganisms and is therefore available for natural circulation as nutrients for aquatic plants - pollutants such as ammonium, nitrites and nitrates are removed. Since so little waste per volume of water is formed in nature, the existing bottom surface is sufficient to house a sufficient number of microorganisms.

However, an aquarium accommodates a small biome in a small space. It is therefore necessary to maximize the settling zone to ensure a complete and safe dissolution of the organic residue.

Unlike other filter rings on the market, sera siporax is made of sintered glass. The unique material convinces due to the special 3D pore structure. This allows for maximum surface gain. At the same time, the micropores provide ideal settlement conditions for bacteria that break down contaminants. Because it is an interconnected system, bacteria are permanently rinsed away by the water so that they can break down contaminants as efficiently as possible. Moreover, the unique set of pores allows self-purification of the substrate and thus very long filter retention times.
