TG-6 contains a 25-100mm medium-range zoom lens and a high-brightness backlit CMOS image sensor for excellent performance in low-light settings. The microscope mode has been improved since the previous TG-5 model and is capable of capturing good macro close-up images as if not better than expensive full-frame DSLR cameras.
TG-6 supports 4K ultra HD video and RAW image capture, which is a powerful tool for color corrections after diving using Adobe Lightroom or the included software.
TG-6 is waterproof up to 50 feet (15.2 meters) even without a cover, making setup less stressful.
Due to the camera flash position relative to the lens, the built-in flash does not suit underwater lighting.
For the best color and clarity, we recommend adding a filter, strobe, or constant light.
The built-in flash may be used to trigger external strobes via fiber optic sync cord.
Two ports are provided for connecting up to two fiber optic cords.
Any current Ikelite DS strobe can be triggered fiber-optically with true automatic Olympus TTL exposure using the RC1 TTL Receiver # 4412 and Fiber Optic Cord # 4501.
AF35 strobe is not compatible with this housing.
Wide Angle, Macro + Filters
Our 3-inch diameter ports feature a 67mm thread on the front for easy attachment of external wide-angle and macro wet lenses.
Wide-angle lenses make objects appear smaller, so you can fit more into your frame underwater.
Macro close-up lenses make small objects appear larger, so tiny creatures will fill your frame.
The DC1 6-inch Dome Port # 6401 offers the best of everything: wide angle, macro, and split shots all in one dive.
This special dome port replaces the housing's standard port and provides sharp 25mm wide angle, full zoom, and macro capabilities, ideal for half-in, half-out of water shots.
The WD-3 Wide Angle Dome # 6430.3 attaches to the front of the standard port and provides a mid-range angle of view without vignetting (dark shadows in the corners).
The W-30 Wide Angle Lens # 6430, INON UWL-H100, and other 67mm threaded wide-angle lenses offer a wider maximum angle of view.
Because these are separated from the camera lens by glass, air, and water, some vignetting and edge distortion may occur.
These effects can be minimized or eliminated by using a smaller aperture, zooming in slightly, and cropping in post-production.
External macro lenses with 67mm threads from INON, Epoque, and other manufacturers can be attached directly to the front of the housing port.
3-inch diameter color filters press directly onto these ports.
Most wide-angle lenses require a 3.6-inch diameter color filter.
Refer to the product page for color filter compatibility information.
