Hyoscine Butyl Bromide 10 mg Tablets Why is Hyoscine Butyl Bromide used? Hyoscine Butyl Bromide is used to treat stomach, intestinal, and bladder spasms. It is also used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Do not take Hyoscine Butyl Bromide: • If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any other components of this medication. • If you have glaucoma. • If you have myasthenia gravis. • If you have or suspect intestinal obstruction. • If you have an intestinal blockage or it is not functioning properly (ileus). • If you have megacolon. • If you have prostate enlargement (for men). Precautions and warnings Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including: • Heart problems such as rapid heartbeat. • Hyperthyroidism. • Difficulty urinating. • Constipation. • Fever. • Liver or kidney problems. Possible side effects Stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately if you experience: Skin rash; itching; red, sore, or peeling skin; chest or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. How to take Hyoscine Butyl Bromide • This medication is for adults and children aged 6 years and above. • Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. • The injection is given intramuscularly or intravenously. • The usual dose is two tablets (20 mg) four times a day. • For children aged 6-12 years, the usual dose is one tablet three times a day. • For irritable bowel syndrome, the usual dose is one tablet (10 mg) three times a day.
