Glimiperide 4 mg – Tablets Why is Glimiperide used? Glimiperide is a medication used to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent), and is used as part of a treatment plan that includes a healthy diet and exercise. Do not take Glimiperide if: You are allergic to Glimiperide or other sulfonylureas or sulfonamides You have type 1 diabetes You have diabetic ketoacidosis You have been in diabetic coma You have serious liver problems You have kidney problems Warnings and precautions Tell your doctor if: You are recovering from injury, surgery, infection with fever, or any severe stress You have liver or kidney problems You have G6PD enzyme deficiency ⚠️ Glimiperide may cause low blood sugar, especially when: Skipping meals Engaging in intense physical activity Drinking alcohol Symptoms of hypoglycemia include: nausea, hunger, shivering, dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, difficulty speaking, sweating. If they occur, it is recommended to consume fast-absorbing sugar such as a sugar cube or juice.
