What is the use of Meloxicam: Meloxicam tablets are used in: short-term (acute) treatment of arthritis cases. long-term treatment of the following conditions: rheumatoid arthritis. ankylosing spondylitis. What you need to know before taking Meloxicam: Do not take Meloxicam if: you are in the last three months of pregnancy. you are a child or adolescent under 16 years old. you are allergic to Meloxicam or any other ingredients of this medicine. you are allergic to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. you have ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines. you have severe liver failure. you have recently suffered a brain bleed. you have severe heart failure. Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Meloxicam if: using Meloxicam may be associated with a slight increased risk of heart attack or stroke. you have had heart problems or a previous stroke or believe you are at risk of these conditions. Treatment should be stopped immediately if any bleeding or ulceration in the gastrointestinal tract occurs. Stop taking Meloxicam if a skin rash or other skin symptoms appear. How to take Meloxicam: Acute arthritis: usual dose 7.5 mg daily, which can be increased to 15 mg per day. Rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis: usual dose 15 mg daily. The doctor may reduce the dose to 7.5 mg daily. How to store Meloxicam: Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiration date.
