Insulin Aspart 100 units/mL – Ready-to-use pen (NovoRapid® – نوفورابد) What are the indications for using Insulin Aspart? Insulin Aspart is a rapid-acting insulin used to lower high blood sugar levels in: Adults Teenagers Children from one year old and above with diabetes. Regular treatment with Insulin Aspart helps prevent diabetes complications. Onset and duration of action: Begins working within 10–20 minutes of injection Reaches peak in 1–3 hours Effects last for 3–5 hours Due to its short duration, it is often used with intermediate or long-acting insulin. Do not use Insulin Aspart if: You are allergic to Insulin Aspart or any of the ingredients of the medication You suspect hypoglycemia The pen has fallen, been damaged, or pressed It has not been stored properly or has been frozen The insulin is cloudy or discolored Warnings and precautions: Tell your doctor if you: Have kidney or liver problems Have thyroid, adrenal, or pituitary disorders Exercise more than usual or change your diet Are ill (continue insulin and see your doctor) Travel across different time zones Notice skin changes at the injection site Possible side effects: Insulin Aspart may cause side effects, mainly: Hypoglycemia (most common and dangerous) Skin changes at the injection site Allergic reactions Confusion or vision problems Joint swelling Diabetic retinopathy Diabetic neuropathy Drug interactions: Some medications affect blood sugar levels: May lower blood sugar: Sulfonylurea medications Some antidepressants Blood pressure and heart medications Painkillers and some anti-inflammatory drugs May raise blood sugar: Birth control pills Fluid retention medications Thyroid medications Asthma medications Growth hormones Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications you are using.
