Amoxicillin (Clavox 1 gram) is an antibiotic from the penicillin group, working to fight bacteria inside the body. Clavulanate potassium is a form of clavulanic acid, working to combat bacteria resistant to penicillin and other antibiotics. The amoxicillin + clavulanate combination is used to treat multiple bacterial infections, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, skin infections, bone and joint infections. It is also used to treat recurrent or persistent acute otitis media in children, especially in cases of: recent antibiotic exposure within the last 3 months, children ≤ 2 years old, presence of infection incubation period. Each coated tablet contains: 500 mg of amoxicillin, 125 mg of clavulanic acid. Usage instructions: taken twice daily after meals as directed by the doctor. In cases of streptococcal blood infection, it is recommended to use the medication for at least 10 days to prevent late complications. Warnings and precautions: before using the medication, inform your doctor if you have: allergy to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillin, or cephalosporins; history of allergy to any antibiotic; previous liver problems or jaundice when using antibiotics; liver, kidney, or white blood cell diseases. Important notes: the medication may contain inactive ingredients that can cause allergies. Inform your doctor of all medications you are using before any surgery. The medication may reduce the effectiveness of live bacterial vaccines such as typhoid vaccine. Do not take any vaccine without consulting your doctor. Side effects: stop using the medication and contact your doctor immediately if you experience: watery or bloody diarrhea, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, fever, confusion, easy bruising or bleeding, severe tingling, numbness, muscle weakness, behavioral changes or seizures, severe abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, severe skin rash or peeling. Less serious side effects: mild diarrhea, gas, stomach pain, nausea or vomiting, headache, rash or itching, white patches in the mouth or throat, vaginal yeast infection.
