Product description
Product description: Please note that the doctor may prescribe the medication for different uses and/or with doses different from those mentioned in the leaflet. Always follow your doctor’s instructions on the pharmacy label. Valartan / Hydrochlorothiazide coated tablets contain two active substances: Valartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, and these two substances help in treating high blood pressure. Valartan: Belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Angiotensin II is a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict, leading to high blood pressure. Valartan works to prevent the effect of angiotensin II. This results in relaxing the blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide: Belongs to the group of thiazide diuretics. Increases urine output, which helps lower blood pressure. Valartan / Hydrochlorothiazide is used when treatment with a single active substance is not sufficient. Uncontrolled high blood pressure may cause damage to blood vessels in the heart, brain, and kidneys, and may lead to stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attacks and other complications. Usage instructions: Use this medicine exactly as your doctor told you. The recommended dose is usually one tablet daily. The doctor will determine the appropriate dose based on your response to treatment. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor. The medication is taken at the same time every day, preferably in the morning. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water. If you take an overdose: Contact your doctor or hospital immediately, especially if a child has taken the medicine by mistake. If you feel severe dizziness or fainting, lie down and contact your doctor immediately. If you forget to take a dose: Take the dose as soon as you remember unless the next dose is close. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. If you stop treatment: Stopping the medication may worsen blood pressure. Do not stop using it except on your doctor’s instructions.
