On a child less than one year old. To treat any of the following skin problems, as it may worsen them: Acne. Severe redness of the skin in the nose area and around it (rosacea). Intermittent red rash around your mouth (perioral dermatitis). Itching around the anus or genitals (penis or vagina). The affected skin (unless the infection is treated with antimicrobial medicines at the same time). Non-inflammatory skin itching. Spread of plaque psoriasis except for single lesions. Precautions and warnings: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Clobetasol if: You have previously had an allergic reaction with another steroid. You are applying the cream under a tight bandage, including a child's diaper, as these bandages facilitate the passage of the active substance through the skin and may lead to using an excessive amount of the cream. Make sure to clean the skin before applying a new bandage to prevent infections. You are applying it on cracked or damaged skin or inside skin folds. You are applying it over a large area. You have psoriasis; your doctor will want to see you more often. You are using it to treat a chronic leg ulcer, as you may be at increased risk of a local allergic reaction or infection. You are using it near the eyes or on the eyelids, as cataracts or glaucoma may occur if the cream frequently enters the eye. You are using it on delicate skin such as the face, because Clobetasol may cause skin thinning, and use on the face should be limited to 5 days. No bandages or dressings should be used on the face where the cream is applied. Potential side effects: Stop using the product and seek immediate medical care if you experience difficulty swallowing or swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, or if you feel faint or have difficulty breathing. Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching on the face or body. Other medicines and Clobetasol: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, especially if you are taking Ritonavir or Itraconazole. How to use Clobetasol: Usually apply once or twice a day a thin layer of Clobetasol. This may decrease as your skin improves, or stop when it improves. Your doctor may prescribe a milder steroid to use instead. If you are also using a moisturizer, leave time for Clobetasol to absorb into your skin before applying moisturizers. This cream is for use on your skin only. Do not use for more than 4 weeks without talking to your doctor. If you need long-term treatment, your doctor may decide you need to use a milder cream or ointment. If your skin problem worsens or does not improve within 2 to 4 weeks, talk to your doctor. How to store Clobetasol: Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the tube or box after (EXP). The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not store above 25°C. Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
