Senna and Spogel beads Why are Senna and Spogel beads used: Laxative stimulant of plant origin. Do not use Senna and Spogel beads: Do not use in the following cases: Patients with abnormal narrowing of the digestive system. Hemorrhoids. Uncontrolled diabetes. Acute inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Appendicitis. Abdominal pain of unknown cause. Severe dehydration accompanied by water and electrolyte loss. Children under 10 years old. Warnings and precautions: Long-term use may worsen any existing slowdown in bowel movement. This product should only be used if constipation cannot be treated by dietary changes or using bulking agents. When used by adults with fecal incontinence, contact with stool on the skin should be avoided for long periods by regularly changing sanitary pads. Possible side effects: Stop using the product and seek immediate medical care if you experience throat tightness or swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, or feel faint, or have difficulty breathing. Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching on the face or body. Other medications and Senna and Spogel beads: In cases of chronic use or misuse, potassium loss may increase the effect of cardiac glycosides and affect the work of anti-arrhythmic medications. Potassium loss may increase when used with some diuretics or corticosteroids or steroid-like substances (adrenal steroids) or licorice root. The absorption of concurrently taken medications from the digestive system into the bloodstream may be delayed. Insulin doses may need to be reduced in insulin-dependent diabetics. How to use Senna and Spogel beads: Adults and children over 10 years: 1–2 teaspoons or one sachet after dinner. The correct individual dose is the minimum required to produce soft stools. Do not take more than 2 teaspoons or one sachet per day. Without medical consultation, it should not be used for longer than that, and it is advised to review with a healthcare provider if use continues after 7 days. The beads should be swallowed whole with plenty of fluids (¼ liter). When taking other medications, it is preferable to wait 30 to 60 minutes before taking them.
