Please attach the medical prescription in the attachments below Azithromycin – Oral Suspension What is Azithromycin and what are its indications: Azithromycin is an antibiotic from the macrolide group. It is used to treat mild to moderate bacterial infections caused by bacteria sensitive to the drug. It works by stopping bacterial growth. It is not beneficial for treating viral infections such as colds or influenza. Incorrect or unnecessary use of antibiotics may lead to decreased effectiveness. Indications for use: Azithromycin is used to treat: Respiratory tract infections. Pneumonia. Sinusitis. Pharyngitis and tonsillitis. Other bacterial infections as diagnosed by the doctor. Dosage and usage instructions: The dose and duration of treatment vary depending on age, weight, and type of infection, and are determined by the doctor only. For pneumonia treatment: Children weighing 34 kg or more: The dose is determined by the doctor. Usually 2 grams as a single dose daily. Children aged 6 months or less than 34 kg: The dose is determined by the doctor. Usually 60 mg per kg of body weight as a single dose daily. For other infections (children ≥ 6 months): The usual dose: From 10 to 30 mg/kg once daily. May be followed by: 5 to 10 mg/kg once daily for several days depending on the type of infection. For pharyngitis or tonsillitis: Children aged two years and above: Usually 12 mg/kg once daily for 5 days. Children less than 6 months or less than two years: The doctor determines the dose and method of use. Warnings and precautions: Shake the bottle well before each use. Use a dedicated measuring tool (syringe or graduated spoon). Do not use a household spoon. If the child vomits the dose within 30 minutes, contact the doctor to determine if the dose needs to be repeated. If you are using antacids containing aluminum or magnesium: Leave at least a two-hour interval before or after taking azithromycin.
