Product description: Terbinafine tablets is an antifungal belonging to the allylamine group, and is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails. Terbinafine acts as a fungicide against dermatophytes, molds, and some dimorphic fungi, and also as a fungistatic or fungicidal depending on the type of fungi. Terbinafine inhibits ergosterol synthesis in the fungal cell membrane by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase, leading to accumulation of squalene inside the cells and a decrease in ergosterol, thus causing fungal cell death. It is effective in treating fungal infections caused by Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton species, and is also used to treat skin yeast infections, especially those caused by Candida, and shows effectiveness in treating tinea versicolor. Usage instructions: For treating fungal hair or nail infections: The usual oral dose is terbinafine 250 mg once daily, with treatment duration ranging from 2 to 12 weeks depending on the type and location of the infection. Nail fungus of the hand: Terbinafine 250 mg once daily for 6 weeks. Nail fungus of the foot: Terbinafine 250 mg once daily for 12 weeks. Warnings and precautions: Before taking terbinafine, inform the doctor or pharmacist in the following cases: If you have an allergy to terbinafine or any other medication allergies. If you have a history of immune system problems, kidney issues, liver problems, or lupus.
