The description Pantoprazole is a medication from the group of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), works to reduce stomach acid secretion. Used for short-term treatment in adults to relieve symptoms of acid reflux such as heartburn and acid regurgitation. Indications for use: - Acid reflux - Heartburn - Increased stomach acidity Do not take Pantoprazole if you are allergic to Pantoprazole or any of the ingredients of the medication. If you are taking HIV medications such as Atazanavir or Nelfinavir. Warnings and precautions: Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you suffer from: - Liver diseases or jaundice - Anemia or gastrointestinal bleeding - Unexplained weight loss or difficulty swallowing - Persistent vomiting or black stool - A history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal surgery Important notes: - It does not provide immediate relief, and it may take from one day to several days to see improvement. - It is not used as a preventive. - It is not recommended to use it for more than 4 weeks unless directed by a doctor. - Long-term use may affect absorption of vitamin B12 and magnesium and may increase the risk of bone fractures.
