Product description Rofen is an airway dilator used to treat airway obstruction such as bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive bronchitis. Ipratropium bromide works to dilate the bronchi locally within the lungs without systemic effect. It does not affect respiratory secretions, mucociliary transport, or gas exchange. Its effect begins within 15 minutes, reaches maximum after 1–2 hours, and lasts for 4–6 hours. Usage instructions The dose is adjusted individually according to the patient's condition. If the usual effect does not occur or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted immediately to evaluate the treatment. Doses (inhalation solution) Daily doses exceeding: 1 mg for children under 12 years old 2 mg for adults and children over 12 years old must be under strict medical supervision. Children: 0.25 mg of ipratropium bromide 3–4 times daily Adults: 0.25 – 0.5 mg of ipratropium bromide 3–4 times daily Preparation method The inhalation solution can be used without dilution. Single-dose vials (1 ml) can be diluted with saline solution to make the total volume 2–4 ml. Warnings and precautions Rare allergic reactions such as rash, urticaria, angioedema, or bronchospasm may occur. Inhaled medications may cause paradoxical bronchospasm, and treatment should be stopped immediately if it occurs. Use with caution in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma. Problems such as pupil dilation, increased intraocular pressure, and eye pain have been reported. If symptoms like blurred vision, eye pain, or halos occur, an eye doctor should be consulted immediately. The medication should be kept away from the eyes; if it gets into the eyes, rinse with running water. Use with caution in cases of prostate enlargement or bladder outlet obstruction. Cystic fibrosis patients may have a higher risk of gastrointestinal disturbances. Dizziness or blurred vision may occur, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
