Product description: What is Montelukast: Montelukast is one of the leukotriene receptor antagonists, which prevents a group of substances called leukotrienes. How Montelukast works: Leukotrienes cause constriction and swelling in the airways in the lungs. By preventing leukotrienes, Montelukast works to improve asthma symptoms and helps control it. Leukotrienes also cause allergy symptoms, and preventing them helps improve seasonal allergy symptoms (also known as hay fever or seasonal allergic rhinitis). Montelukast should not be used with other medicines containing the same active substance (Montelukast). If the chewable tablet is taken with food, it should be taken one hour before or two hours after food.
