To reduce the likelihood of gastrointestinal intolerance, AUGMENTIN should be taken at the beginning of a meal. It may work better if taken at the start of a meal. Take the medication every 12 hours. Do not crush or chew the extended-release tablet. Swallow the tablet whole, or break it into two halves and take both halves one after the other.
