Product description

Product description: Amlodipine contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. Please note that the doctor may have prescribed the medication for different uses and/or at a different dose than stated in the package insert. Always follow your doctor's prescription as indicated on the pharmacy label. Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or a special type of chest pain called angina, including a rare form called Prinzmetal or variant angina. In patients with high blood pressure, the medication works by dilating blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. In patients with angina, Amlodipine improves blood flow to the heart muscle, increasing oxygen supply and helping to prevent chest pain. The medication does not provide immediate relief of chest pain caused by angina. Usage instructions: Always use this medication as your doctor or pharmacist advised. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. The recommended starting dose is 5 mg of Amlodipine once daily. The dose can be increased to 10 mg of Amlodipine once daily. The medication can be taken before or after meals and drinks. Take this medication at the same time each day with a glass of water. Do not take Amlodipine with grapefruit juice. Use of Amlodipine in children and adolescents: For children and adolescents (6–17 years): The usual recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg daily. The maximum recommended dose is 5 mg daily. If you take too much Amlodipine: Contact your doctor, hospital, or poison control center. If you overdose or a child accidentally takes the medication. For other questions about the medication, contact your doctor or pharmacist. An overdose may cause low blood pressure and be dangerous. You may feel dizziness, weakness, or fainting. If blood pressure drops severely, shock may occur. You may feel cold and clammy skin and lose consciousness. See a doctor immediately if you overdose on Amlodipine. If you forget to take Amlodipine: Do not worry. If you miss a dose, you can skip it entirely. Take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.
