Product description

Product description: Please note that the doctor may prescribe this medication for different uses and/or at doses different from those mentioned in the leaflet. Always follow your doctor's instructions on the pharmacy label. Co-Tabovan coated tablets contain two active substances: valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, and are used to treat high blood pressure. Valsartan: Belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers. Angiotensin II causes narrowing of the blood vessels, leading to high blood pressure. Valsartan works by blocking the effect of angiotensin II, resulting in relaxation of the blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide: Belongs to the group of thiazide diuretics. Increases urine output, which helps lower blood pressure. Valsartan / hydrochlorothiazide is used when treatment with a single active substance is not sufficient to lower blood pressure. Uncontrolled high blood pressure may cause damage to blood vessels in the brain, heart, and kidneys, and may lead to stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure to normal levels reduces the risk of these complications. Usage instructions: Use this medication exactly as your doctor told you. Adhering to the prescribed dose helps achieve the best result and reduce side effects. The usual recommended dose is one tablet daily. The medication should be taken at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. It can be taken with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor. If you take an overdose of valsartan / hydrochlorothiazide: Contact your doctor or hospital immediately, especially if a child has taken the medication by mistake. If you feel severe dizziness or fainting, lie down and contact your doctor immediately. If you forget to take a dose: Take the dose as soon as you remember unless the time for the next dose is near. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. If you stop using the medication: Stopping treatment may worsen blood pressure. Do not stop use unless your doctor told you to. Precautions and warnings: Do not use valsartan / hydrochlorothiazide if: You are allergic to valsartan or hydrochlorothiazide or sulfonamide derivatives or any component of the medication.
