Product description Marvelon (Desogestrel / Ethinyl Estradiol) is a combined contraceptive pill containing two types of female hormones: Ethinyl Estradiol (Estrogen) and Desogestrel (Progestin). These hormones work to: prevent ovulation from the ovary (inhibit ovulation). increase cervical mucus viscosity, which hinders sperm entry. regulate the cycle and make it lighter and less painful. These pills are a 21-day system: take one pill daily for 21 days, followed by 7 days without pills. Benefits of using Marvelon are very effective in preventing pregnancy when used correctly. It does not hinder marital relations. helps regulate the cycle and reduce its flow and pain. may reduce premenstrual symptoms. Note: Marvelon does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases — condom is the only means of protection. When should Marvelon not be used? Do not use it if you have any of the following conditions: previous clot in the leg or lung or any organ. hereditary blood clotting disorders. predisposition to clots or before a surgery requiring immobility. previous stroke or heart attack. migraine with aura (visual disturbances). severe liver diseases or liver tumors. pancreatitis with severe lipid elevation. hormone-sensitive cancer (breast/uterus). unexplained vaginal bleeding. allergy to any component of the medication. pregnancy or suspicion of pregnancy. use of hepatitis C medications containing: Ombitasvir / Paritaprevir / Ritonavir / Dasabuvir.
