What is Betamethasone Valerate and its use: Betamethasone Valerate belongs to the class of topical corticosteroids, and works to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin. It is used to treat some skin problems such as eczema and some types of dermatitis. Available in the form of ointment or cream for topical use. Do not use Betamethasone Valerate if: you are allergic to Betamethasone Valerate or any other corticosteroid or any of the product's ingredients. the package is torn or tampered with. the medication has expired. irritation or skin sensitivity appears during use. you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy. you suffer from other skin problems such as: fungal or bacterial skin infections, anal or genital itching, cold sores, shingles, chickenpox, skin tuberculosis, skin ulcers, acne, dermatitis around the mouth, or poor circulation in the skin area. children under one year old, unless advised by a doctor. Warnings and precautions: stop use immediately and see a doctor if any signs of allergy appear such as itching, redness, rash, shortness of breath, facial or neck swelling, dizziness, or low blood pressure. For external use only, do not swallow. avoid contact with eyes, mouth, lips, and sensitive areas. if accidental contact with the eyes occurs, rinse with running water for 10 minutes. inform your doctor if vision problems occur. do not use under occlusive dressings especially if there is a skin infection. do not use for long periods or on large areas of skin. do not use on the face or under tight clothing unless directed by a doctor. do not share the medication with others. inform healthcare providers that you are using this medication. Possible side effects: stop use and seek medical help immediately if severe rash, itching, swelling, blisters, or skin peeling occur. wheezing, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, or fainting. Other potential side effects: itching, dryness, redness, burning, rash around the mouth, acne, skin discoloration, increased hair growth, stretch marks, folliculitis. More serious effects may appear with long-term use or on large areas: delayed wound healing, high blood pressure, eye problems (glaucoma, cataracts, blurred vision), increased risk of infections, muscle weakness, fluid retention. Other medications and Betamethasone Valerate: inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications you are using, including topical preparations. How to use Betamethasone Valerate: For adults: apply a thin layer to the affected area and gently massage as directed by the doctor. For children: use only if advised by a doctor, with careful monitoring for side effects.
