Why use drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol: this medicine is pills contraceptive and used for contraception. do not use drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol: if you have (or have previously had) a blood clot in a blood vessel in your leg (deep vein thrombosis, DVT), or your lungs (pulmonary embolism, PE) or other organs; if you know you have a disorder affecting blood clotting - for example, protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, antithrombin III deficiency, factor V Leiden or antiphospholipid antibodies; if you need surgery or if you are away from your feet for a long time; if you have had a heart attack or stroke. if you suffer from (or have previously suffered from) angina (a condition causing severe chest pain and may be the first sign of a heart attack) or transient ischemic attack (TIA - temporary stroke symptoms); if you have any of the following diseases that may increase the risk of arterial clot: severe diabetes with blood vessel damage, very high blood pressure, high blood fats (cholesterol or triglycerides), a condition called hyperhomocysteinemia. if you have (or have previously had) a type of migraine called "migraine with aura". if you have (or have previously had) liver disease and liver function is still abnormal. if your kidneys do not work well (renal failure). if you have (or have previously had) a liver tumor. if you have (or have previously had) or if you suspect you have breast cancer or reproductive organ cancer. if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding. if you are allergic to ethinyl estradiol or drospirenone, or any other ingredients of this medicine. precautions and warnings: talk to your doctor before taking it, and you should also inform your doctor: if a close relative has or had breast cancer; if you have liver or gallbladder disease; if you have diabetes; if you have depression; if you have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammatory bowel disease); if you have hemolytic uremic syndrome; if you have sickle cell anemia (a hereditary disease of red blood cells); if you have high blood fats (hyperlipidemia) or a positive family history of this condition; if you need surgery, or if you are away from your feet for a long time; if you are newly born, you are at increased risk of blood clots; if you have inflammation of superficial veins (superficial thrombophlebitis); if you have varicose veins; if you suffer from epilepsy; if you have systemic lupus erythematosus; if you have a disease that appeared for the first time during pregnancy or earlier use of sex hormones (for example, hearing loss, a blood disease called porphyria, jaundice, itching all over the body, skin rash with blisters during pregnancy (herpes gestationis), a neurological disease causing sudden body movements (Sydham's dance)). if you have ever experienced skin discoloration, especially on the face or neck, called "melasma" (chloasma). if so, avoid direct sunlight or ultraviolet rays. if you have hereditary angioedema, products containing estrogen may cause or worsen symptoms. possible side effects: stop using the product and seek urgent medical care if you experience throat tightness or swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, or feel faint or have difficulty breathing. stop using the product if you have hives or itching on the face or body. other medicines and drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol: interacts with medicines that: can affect blood levels of it, can make it less effective in preventing pregnancy, can cause unexpected bleeding, and include medicines used to treat epilepsy (such as primidone, phenytoin, barbiturates, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine), tuberculosis (such as rifampicin), HIV and hepatitis C infections (called protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, such as ritonavir, nevirapine, efavirenz), fungal infections (griseofulvin, ketoconazole), arthritis and gout (etoricoxib), pulmonary arterial hypertension (bosentan), herbal remedy St. John’s Wort. this medicine may affect the effect of other medicines: medicines containing cyclosporine, lamotrigine (antiepileptic, may increase seizure frequency), theophylline (used for breathing problems), tizanidine (used for muscle pain and/or spasms). how to use drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol: take it every day for 21 days. comes in strips of 21 pills, each marked with the day of the week. take the pills at the same time each day. start by taking the pill marked with the correct day of the week. follow the arrow directions on the strip. take one pill each day, until you finish 21 pills. swallow each pill whole with water if necessary. do not chew the pill. then you have seven days without pills. after taking all 21 pills in the pack, you have seven days without pills. so, if you took the last pill from one pack on Friday, you will take the first pill of your next pack on Saturday of the following week. within a few days of taking the last pill of the pack, you should have withdrawal bleeding like a period. this bleeding may not have finished when it’s time to start the next pack. you do not need to use additional contraception during the seven days without pills — as long as you have taken your pills correctly and started the next pack on time. then start the next strip. start taking the next pack after the seven days without pills — even if you are still bleeding. always start the new pack on time. how to store drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol: keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. do not store above 25°C. store in its original packaging. do not use this medicine after the expiration date printed on the package after "do not use after:" or "EXP". the expiration date indicates the last day of the same month. product details: brand: Yaz, quantity: 28 pills, product model: tablets, product type: tablets
