Product Description Amlodipine / Valsartan / Hydrochlorothiazide 5mg / 160mg / 25mg A combined medication used to treat high blood pressure in adults who previously controlled their pressure with the three medications separately and wish to switch to a single tablet that combines them all. Do not use this medication if you: Are pregnant for more than 3 months. Have an allergy to: amlodipine, or any calcium channel blockers, or valsartan, or hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamides. Have liver disease such as cholestasis or biliary stasis. Have severe kidney problems or are on dialysis. Cannot urinate (urinary retention). Have severe sodium or potassium deficiency, or high calcium despite treatment. Have gout. Have severe low blood pressure, aortic valve stenosis, cardiac shock, or heart failure after a stroke. Are diabetic or have kidney impairment while using this type of medication. Warnings and precautions Tell your doctor before using the medication if you have: Kidney or liver disease. Heart failure or coronary artery disease. A previous heart attack. Lupus erythematosus. Diabetes. High triglycerides or cholesterol. Possible side effects Seek medical attention immediately if you experience: Severe dizziness. Low blood pressure (dizziness, fainting, feeling heavy, or loss of consciousness). Drug interactions Tell your doctor about all your medications, especially: Use is prohibited with: lithium. Medications or supplements that increase potassium (such as salt substitutes, spironolactone, heparin). ACE inhibitors or aliskiren. Method of use Typical dose: one tablet daily. Preferably take it in the morning at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Can be taken with or without food. Avoid grapefruit and its juice. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Storage Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date. Store below 30°C. Do not use damaged packages. Disposal according to pharmacist’s instructions.
