Product description

The burqa is a cover or mask that women wear to cover their faces, but not completely as in the niqab. It covers the forehead and the lower part of the nose, along with the mouth and chin. Women decorate the lower part of the burqa with gold color, especially. The length of the burqa has been a symbol of Bedouin women in the Arabian Peninsula, especially in the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. In authentic Saudi heritage, women covered their faces with the burqa and hid their beauty behind it. Saudi women wore it in Taif, Mecca, and other cities. The burqa consists of 7 main parts, identified as follows: First part: the forehead part, a horizontal strip whose width increases as women age or according to the woman's taste, and it is sewn with a Shalala stitch. Second part: the sword, a soft stick made from a palm branch or palm frond, polished and inserted into the middle of the burqa to sit on the nose line and achieve balance between the upper and lower parts of the burqa. Third part: the eye opening or Kharza, which highlights the woman's eye features according to her preference or face measurements. Fourth part: the tear, widening downward at the opposite corner of the eye opening from above or below, from the temple to the cheek. Fifth part: the Satr or Jasfa, a piece that covers the cheek and is wide or thin according to the lady's taste. On its sides, the burqa is folded or wrapped. Sixth part: the Khara, extending from the temple to the end of the sword and passing below the eye opening, shaped like a beak. Seventh and final part: the lining, a piece of cloth fixed inside the burqa to absorb sweat and protect the face from indigo stains. Finally, the Shabouk: two threads fixed at the ends of the burqa, pulled behind the head to secure the burqa. We have two types of burqas: A medium-length burqa, suitable for daily use in cities like Dammam, Jeddah, and especially Mecca during working hours. A short burqa, considered preferred among young people.
